| UTAH ZOOS For years, Utah's Hogle Zoo has been among the best things about living in and visiting our community. Generations of families have been entertained and educated here. Millions of tourists have enjoyed our animals and exhibits. Each year, some 700,000 guests pass through our gates. Half are our neighbors in Salt Lake County; the other half is divided between visitors from elsewhere in Utah and from outside our state. The Tracey Aviary is located on 7.5 acres of land in the heart of Salt Lake City. A charitable act by Salt Lake City banker Russell Lord Tracy founded the Tracy Aviary when he donated his private bird collection to Salt Lake City and its children. Open to the public since 1938, the Tracy Aviary maintains a collection of approximately 400 birds representing about 135 species. Many of these birds are considered rare or endangered. Don't forget your camera! |
