VERMONT ZOOS

Wolf and Wild Canine Sanctuary is a federally licensed, non-profit
and tax exempt facility, founded by Pete Porter in 1986 to rescue unwanted,
abandoned and illegally imported wolves. In the past, like many other
organizations, this sanctuary has taken in wolf dog mixes. However, since
there are so few licensed facilities for pure wolves, we are currently
limiting our incoming to pure animals. Now they are here forever and not
mistakenly here to "return to the wild"! At present, there are 5 animals
housed here. They range from pure Timberwolves, pure subspecies Arctic
wolves and wolf/dog crosses of various percentages.
